Ice Boy Toronto Relocates After 30+ Years in Scarborough

For 30+ years Ice Boy Toronto has been part of Scarborough’s fabric, serving up ice with heart and community pride at 24 Continental Place. This fall, with a mix of nostalgia and excitement, we announce that our long-time Scarborough home will be closing. Starting December 1, 2025, Ice Boy will be operating from 605 Middlefield Road, Units 1–4, Scarborough – a “bigger and better space” to continue our Toronto ice delivery and sculpting tradition. We’re proud of the memories made at Continental Place – from summer Ribfests and winter winter-wonderland festivals to behind-the-scenes moments at stadiums and arenas – and we’re gearing up to write a new chapter in the same proud Scarborough community.

History & Roots: From Food Trucks to Frozen Artistry

Ice Boy Toronto began life over three decades ago as a humble mobile venture. Founder Rob “Uncle Rob” Bould started out with ice vending from trucks and even a converted shipping container, earning a reputation for reliable service and ingenuity. Over the years, Ice Boy grew into a full-service ice specialist, expanding into packaged ice, dry ice, and elaborate custom ice carvings. But our heart has always been in Scarborough. For more than 30 years we’ve poured countless blocks of ice at Continental Place, turning that little industrial park into our family business headquarters. Through every season – from summer blockbuster events to winter holiday gatherings – Ice Boy’s story has been written in ice, sweat, and local pride.

Community & Events: Ice for Toronto’s Biggest Moments

Ice Boy isn’t just about delivery – we’re about doing big events right. If Toronto is hosting it, chances are we’ve been there keeping things cool. We’ve poured ice at Rogers Centre for concerts and Blue Jays games, set up chill zones at BMO Field during Toronto FC matches, and created shimmering displays inside Scotiabank Arena for Maple Leafs and Raptors events. For example, our team crafted a life-sized “We The North” ice sculpture for the Raptors NBA Finals festivities and froze autographed Maple Leafs jerseys in ice for fans returning to the rink. We’ve been on the sidelines at Tim Hortons Field (CFL), belted out ice for TIFF gala bars, and even cooled down GREY CUP parties at Maple Leaf Square.

Ice Boy has also embraced Toronto’s cultural celebrations. We’re proud to support Pride Toronto with festive ice bars, chill out at Afrofest with coolers of ice, and keep Sugar Shack TO’s maple taffy parties from melting down. Our ice has been handed out at Ribfests and sparkling at Illumi Toronto. For sporting spectacles, Ice Boy has been a fixture: behind the scenes at the Honda Indy Toronto, “we kept it cool all weekend long” from early-morning ice runs to mid-race top-ups. At the King’s Plate horse race in 2025, Ice Boy turned heads with three stunning ice sculptures on the grounds. During the National Bank Open (Rogers Cup) tennis tournament, we partnered with Marigold & Onions to chill fresh seafood and supplies, delivering “reliable cold storage and ice solutions” so the tournament could run smoothly. In short, from VELD Music Festival to Queen’s Harbour, from major league games to local fairs, Ice Boy has chilled, carved, and catered with a smile across the GTA.

Sculpture Highlights: Artistry in Ice

Beyond trucks and trays, Ice Boy is known for eye-catching ice artistry. Our master carver Danny has turned blocks of ice into wedding centerpieces, gala backdrops, and fun features that guests remember. Weddings are a specialty – vodka and booze luges at cocktail hour, custom monogram ice for the head table, and even elegant ice bars for winter receptions. For seafood lovers, we’ve created dazzling chilled displays: “ensure your seafood stays chilled in a stunning ice display” that is as functional as it is beautiful. A recent Mother’s Day brunch was topped off by “a breathtaking ice sculpture, and the freshest seafood to honor the love” of the day. We’ve carved everything from swans and hearts to giant logo luges – and even custom ice tables with colored sand inlays for VIP suites.

Our work isn’t limited to weddings and galas. Ice Boy has brought spark to fire events as well. In February’s Greektown Fire & Ice Festival, we helped create a “bold winter activation” of Greek mythology – carving live ice sculptures of gods and goddesses to add “a sense of warmth and wonder” to the cold night. At corporate seafood festivals like those run with Marigold & Onions, our ice sculptures double as both art and chillers, making any buffet or display pop. On the sports side, our custom coolers have held pucks, beers, and even the Stanley Cup on ice. From sculpted logos at team events to interactive luges and ice party walls, Ice Boy’s creativity brings a unique “cool factor” to every celebration.

Staff & Customer Appreciation Day

As we prepare to leave 24 Continental Place, we want to give back to the community that has supported us. You’re invited to our Staff & Customer Appreciation Day on Sunday, September 28, 2025 (12–3 PM) – one last party at our Scarborough home! Come join the Ice Boy family for FREE Smash & Grab burgers (yes, FREE!), cups of our own ice, and plenty of good vibes for friends and neighbors. It’s our way of saying thank-you: saying goodbye to the old spot and looking forward to the future together. We’ll be firing up the grills and giving away ice all afternoon – a true community send-off to Ice Boy’s Continental Place era. Mark your calendars, gather your family and friends, and celebrate with us before the big move.

Relocation Announcement: A Bittersweet New Chapter

Starting December 1, 2025, Ice Boy Toronto will officially call 605 Middlefield Road, Unit 1–4 our new home. We couldn’t be more excited to expand our operations (more frozen storage! more sculpture space!) while still serving the GTA’s needs for packaged ice, dry ice, and custom sculptures. Of course it’s bittersweet to leave our longtime Scarborough location, but this move means we can continue delivering the same reliable service (and even more ice!) to Toronto’s homes, restaurants, and events from a larger facility. Rest assured: the same friendly drivers, carvers, and staff you know will be there – just a few minutes up the road. Our new address is still in Scarborough, keeping us close to the neighborhoods and clients we love. We can’t wait to welcome you to the new warehouse, but we’ll make sure to throw one last hoorah in our old one first.

Thank You, Scarborough – See You Soon at Middlefield Road!

To the Scarborough community and beyond: thank you for 30 amazing years of support. We’ve grown up here together – from Uncle Rob’s food-truck days to today’s ice sculpture spectacles – and none of it would be possible without you. As we celebrate our past at the Appreciation Day on Sept 28, we also celebrate the future. So here’s to Continental Place – and here’s to the road ahead on Middlefield Road. We look forward to seeing old friends and new faces in our bright, new space, and to continuing our mission of keeping Toronto cool, one block of ice at a time.
