ICE WALLS
Ice walls can range in size depending on what you wish to display. We have done drink displays for the entrance of corporate gatherings or just visual pieces for events or photo opportunities. When building an ice wall we have to be very cautious on structure as well as making sure all the pieces are level. A small variance of levelling on the bottom of the structure grows incrementally as you go up. When creating an ice wall you will be looking to make a splash for your event and take a step up from a standard table top sculpture. Like an ice bar it will be the talking point of your event. We have even frozen items into ice for ice walls as a promotion where the attendees had to break the ice to get what was inside.
SUBMERGED ITEMS IN ICE
When it comes to freezing items in ice, the process is not as easy as one may think. Our normal block making process takes 3-4 days, however when freezing items into the ice this time can sometimes double. It depends on what we are freezing and the quantity being frozen. We do have to keep in mind the integrity of the block if its being used for a wall or bar. Too many items frozen will weaken the block and could cause cracking. We have frozen a variety of items in ice including
- Flowers
- Jerseys
- Jeans
- Shoes
- Liquor bottles
- Fruit
The process is quite time consuming and labour intensive so we do recommend extra notice if you want items frozen into ice. It does have a great effect and can provide a beautiful piece for your event.
The coolest item we have frozen in ice has to be 10 autographed Maple Leaf’s jerseys for MLSE. We placed them all over the city to promote hockey being back after the lockout shortened season. It received some news coverage and sadly people were more interested in the contents and broke the pieces of art for an autographed jersey.
CRAFT ICE
With our growth and expanding of the ice sculpture division we are in the process to provide you with craft ice! Don’t know about craft ice? It comes in various shapes and sizes and is often used in high end cocktails or for a nice whiskey or scotch. With a custom cube or sphere the surface area will melt slower thus giving you the full flavour of your cocktail without diluting it with standard ice. This is a premium product and time consuming to produce. We are working diligently to craft a variety of items for you. Whether its for a specialty drink at your wedding or a small dinner party. We plan on offering a variety of designs 2 x 2 inch cubes, ice spheres, ice diamonds and ice shot glasses.
