As avid sports fans we love to be a part of sports events that incorporate ice sculptures into them. And we have done a number of sculptures to showcase sports over the years. We have done everything from a basketball themed birthday sculpture for a kid’s birthday party to Maple Leafs Jerseys frozen in ice for the start of the NHL season.
One of our favourites that we had the honour to be a part of was a massive display for the start of the Raptors 2019 Finals appearance vs the Warriors. We set up a massive We The North display with the Raptors logo on the bar at Real Sports prior to game 1 of the finals. Little did we know that the NBA championship trophy would be displayed for that event right in front of our sculpture. This was an exclusive event for media and staff prior to the finals and was definitely a challenging one to set up. It was large, it was on top of a bar and it was heavy. The team worked together and got the job done like the Raptors did on route to their 2019 Championship! We also had the honour to supply the ice for the Raptors Championship Parade!
We’ve also done multiple displays for our favourite team the Toronto Maple Leafs. We have frozen autographed jerseys in ice to help bring back fans after the lockout. Multiple sculptures for the Air Canada Signature Club inside Scotiabank Arena. We were also a part of Leafs TVs show Leafs Nation out Loud. Which included footage of Danny creating a life size Leafs player sculpture. It’s amazing for us to be a part of our hometown teams events as a fan its truly an honour.
We have also had a few encounters with some NHL players. When the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was a viral hit. We helped PK Subban create an epic video by adding 60 x 12kg bags of ice to a dump truck and dumping the ice on him. Check this out on our YouTube channel. We’ve also helped Stanley Cup Champions celebrate their day with the cup with ice sculptures. We created a custom luge for Devante Smith Pelley for his party. And a beautiful crafted design for Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos party with the cup. It is very cool for us to be part of these events.
Our ice is also supplied for BMO Field and Toronto FC. We help keep the beer cold and also supply the TFC logo in ice for some of the suites on occasion. Our CNC program helps to create these custom logos with precision. It can be a challenge to program some of the details but once they have been programmed it is easy to recreate again and again. We also love to incorporate coloured sand in the team logos to make them really stand out.
