If you are planning a winter festival an ice sculpture or multiple ice sculptures are a fantastic addition. They create photo opportunities for the attendees and with multiple sculptures you can do a variety of designs. It also provides our carver Danny the opportunity to create new designs to go with the theme of your festival.
Festivals take a lot more planning and work to deliver our quality sculptures. Rushed jobs when it comes to carvings will often lead to messy or damaged work. When we are co-ordinating a larger festival its very helpful when the customer provides us with as much detail as possible. A map of the area and markings where they want them displayed will speed up and ease the set up process. This also allows us to arrange the multiple sculptures in the truck so we are organized for the delivery and can plan ahead. Preparation for large festivals with multiple carvings is key to everything being completed and set up on time. We strive to have the best customer service when delivering for our valued customers.
We have done a number of festivals which have also included live carving demos. When we are planning for a festival we require more notice than a standard sculpture. The programming and carving process for multiple sculptures will take a week if not longer depending on detail and volume. We always want each sculpture to be perfect for our customers so trying to complete a large volume order in a short time frame is difficult and can lead to mistakes or not our best work. Depending on the size of the festival we will bring a team of people to make the set up as smooth as possible. We will also bring in other carvers to assist on completing these orders in a timely manner. We also face challenges with the elements as the festivals are often (always) outdoors and the weather conditions can be a factor. We will bring all the tools needed but there can always be a factor that is out of our control. It could be rain or warmer weather for a live carving demo which makes it extremely difficult. Or it could be extreme snow or weather for the driver on route to the festival set up. Our team will always plan to be over prepared and leave early to ensure everything is in order for the delivery.
Some festivals we have done recently include Bracebride Fire & Ice Festival, Downtown Huntsville Ice Sculpture Festival, Weston Village BIA Winterfest as well as Little Italy’s 12 days of Christmas! Both of these events were great to be a part of and look forward to doing it each year. We look forward to being a part of your festival in the near future. We are also potentially doing a couple more large festivals next year. Fingers crossed. As we continue to grow we look forward to working more large festivals and maybe one day hosting our own Ice Boy festival at our location.
